MODA-ML, an experience of promotion of a sectorial interoperability framework

The MODA–ML project defines a messaging architecture based on ebXML. It is based on a set of XML schemas built on top of a vocabulary of XML business components. In contrast to the many existing Application Service Provision (ASP) models, our idea is to enable direct data exchanges on a bilateral basis, without the use of ASP centres as intermediaries. This paper also presents a set of tools that has been developed to enforce this architecture and presents some results of the evaluation of the project by a group of leading Italian manufacturers from the Textile/Clothing sector.
